Welcome to the Altered Vistas website, which is devoted to creating animated amateur films about Doctor Who and his adversaries. We've got lots of exciting projects lined up through the coming months (and probably years). Please read all about them, perhaps consider getting involved, or at the very least write a review to let us know what you think.

DAAK’S BACK!!!

Daak's Back

The next project to enter production will be Steve Moore’s 1980 Doctor Who Weekly/Doctor Who Monthly tale Star Tigers, which features the return of Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer! And the production will be receiving help from none other than Steve Moore himself. He has already given invaluable advice on the sets, the characters and the script, as well as finding time in his busy schedule to pen a brand new closing scene for the story and reinstate several lines that were cut by the editor from the original comic strip.

This will be a unique project in Altered Vistas history, and if you would like to be involved then please head over to the Available Parts page where we have many parts available from this story. As always, we welcome auditions from familiar AV names as well as people completely new to us. We are open to professional actors and keen amateurs alike. So come along and try your luck. You might just find yourself in a story with Abslom Daak and the Daleks - and you’ll receive a free copy of the completed production too!

IN THE COMICS EXPANDS ITS FRONTIERS

Krang!

We are in the process of massively expanding our In The Comics features, with the Dalek and Cybermen articles now joined by a complete overview of the Fifth Doctor’s comic strip adventures in magazines, annuals and yearbooks. In time, these three articles will be joined by richly illustrated features on the comic strip exploits of all the Doctors, building up into a complete online reference work on the subject of Doctor Who in the comics.

We hope you enjoy this addition to the site. Your comments are gratefully received.

BRAND NEW STRIP FROM IAIN McCLUMPHA!

Saucer-DZ-99

Whetting our appetites for the much-anticipated Revenge of the Black Dalek, the follow up to his highly praised thirteen-part strip Invasion of the Mechanoids, Iain presents a special Dalek interlude, complete this month, entitled Saucer-DZ-99! This brief strip perfectly compliments the main action of the larger strips, as you will see in the coming months.

SITE UPDATE

Legacy of Yesteryear

In preparation for the release of the next part of the Dalek Chronicles in a few weeks’ time, we are proud to present a small selection of images from the production in a brand new gallery. There will be more images added to the page in the coming weeks as plans come together, bonus features are finalised and the dubsites receive their copies.

Legacy of Yesteryear will be the first Dalek Chronicle released since last October’s Terrorkon Harvest...

We are also pleased to publish the next exciting and beautifully illustrated instalment of Iain McClumpha’s epic continuation of the TV21 Dalek comic strips Invasion of the Mechanoids, as the battle between the Daleks and the Mechanoids reaches its shocking conclusion.

Besides these things, there are also a whole host of new reviews for productions ranging from The Archives of Phryne, to Children of the Revolution, right through to our music CD Vortex.

Plans are afoot to extensively extend some areas of the site and also to continue our exclusive chat with Doctor Who comic strip writer Steve Moore (see below), covering all of his strips for Doctor Who Weekly and Doctor Who Monthly.

In the next week or so I am also hoping to be able to offer many new casting opportunities to all you actors our there, as I reveal the next project to enter production!

Please be sure to check back regularly!

EXCLUSIVE STEVE MOORE INTERVIEW

Following Alan Moore’s review of Black Legacy a couple of days’ ago (see below), we are now equally proud to present to you an exclusive and substantial interview with Steve Moore, creator of Ablsom Daak: Dalek Killer and its follow-up Star Tigers, amongst many other things.

This interview takes an in-depth look at the inspiration, creation, development and intended future of everyone’s favourite Dalek slayer, as well as presenting a detailed and never-before-published proposal for a ten-part Abslom Daak comic book mini-series called After Daak that Steve wrote in the 1990s - not to mention one or two other surprises along the way!

Find out where Daak came from, where he was heading and why he never got there!

You can read the complete interview here.

Hello, I'm the next project to enter production...

LATEST UPDATE

Following on from Scott Gray’s enthusiastic review of his own Children of the Revolution a while back, which chuffed us to bits, and the more recent review of Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer by none other than Steve Moore, creator of the character and writer of both Abslom Daak - Dalek Killer and Star Tigers, which you can read here, we are now absolutely delighted to bring you a review of Black Legacy by none other than Alan Moore, writer of that strip - along with the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, From Hell, Watchmen, V for Vendetta and a host of other things (look him up on Wikipedia sometime)! To say that this is a huge thrill would be understating things just a tad. You can read the review here.

We are also proud to present the twelfth instalment of Iain McClumpha’s exciting TV Century 21 Ron Turner-inspired comic strip Invasion of the Mechanoids making its exclusive debut here at Altered Vistas. There are also a few new reviews for Children of the Revolution and Curse of the Daleks.

Expect some more exciting new content very soon now...

THAT’S ALL, FOLKS!

We hope you enjoy this site and the steadily increasing number of productions that are available. Your comments, suggestions and reviews are, as always, extremely welcome (more than that, they're essential to our continued existence), and you can send them to: empire639@msn.com. We're always keen to offer the best that we possibly can.

Best Wishes,

Stuart
